Anna Krzyżak

Anna Krzyżak musical education began at the age of seven, in Ewa Gajda-Migacz’s violin class in the School of Music named after Grażyna Bacewicz in Jaworzno. She changed the instrument into viola six years later, in 2010, and continued her education in the Karol Szymanowski State General School of Music in Katowice, studying with Łukasz Syrnicki, the violist of the Silesian String Quartet. She has been successful since her earliest childhood at competitions for young violinists, and later on at Polish national and international competitions for violists.

Anna is also a chamber musician and performs in a piano duo, string quartet and clarinet quintet. She was recognised as a chamber musician, at contests both in Poland and abroad. She performed in the top Polish concert halls, among others in the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra Hall in Katowice, Silesian Philharmonic, S1 Studio of Witold Lutosławski in Warsaw, and Krzysztof Penderecki’s European Music Centre in Lusławice.

She performed  as soloist with the Archetti Chamber Orchestra, the Karol Szymanowski’s Youth Orchestra and the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice.

She has been a recognised young musician ever since she started playing the viola. She is the holder of scholarships granted by the Prime Minister, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Governor of Silesian Voivodship, the President of the city Jaworzno, the National Children’s Development Fund, and the Director  of the centre for Art Education in Warsaw.

In October 2016 Anna began her study at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the viola class of Piotr Reichert, the violist of the Camerata String Quartet and in the string quartet class of Wojciech Koprowski, the violinist of the Meccore String Quartet.
